Social Prosperity Perception in Cultural Tourism Destinations: the Case of Peña de Bernal, Huejotzingo and Yuanhuitlán, México

The present quantitative study with a descriptive design tries to determine the conditions of "social prosperity" of three Mexican cultural tourist destinations, Yanhuitlán, Huejotzingo and Peña de Bernal. These places face similar conditions in aspects like marginalization and poverty but with activities like tourism have tried to reverse these adverse conditions. The objective was to know the perception of their population about the improvement of their living conditions as a result of the tourist activity through the application of surveys carried out in the chosen destinations. The instrument used was a questionnaire with a Likert scale to facilitate the response of the informants and the processing of the information. For the validity and reliability of the measurement instrument a factor reduction analysis and a Cronbach's alpha were elaborated, after which a one-way ANOVA was elaborated to know the differences of means taking the Bonferroni and Scheffe tests. The results show a significant difference between the averages of destinations in how residents perceive prosperity in the selected tourist destinations

La crisis de la democracia y los nuevos escenarios que se plantean

The paper reflects on the breadth and depth of the crisis of democracy both in the processes of formal representation and in the disappearance real decision-making autonomy in institutions. Two proposals for regeneration are presented in response to this crisis; one is a proposal for the representative process; the second, considering the first to be insufficient, consists of introducing other democratic spaces.El texto reflexiona sobre la profundidad y extensión de la crisis democrática, tanto en los procesos de representación formal como en la desaparición de la autonomía real decisoria en las instituciones. Respondiendo a esta crisis, se desarrollan dos propuestas regenerativas. Una del mismo proceso representativo. Estrategias de adaptación ante el cambio climático en granos básicos: maíz (Zea mays) y frijol (Phaseolus vulgaris) en cinco comunidades de San Ramón, Matagalpa 2014

El estudio fue realizado en cinco comunidades del municipio de San Ramón. Las variables de estudio fueron: Características de sistemas de producción, impacto del cambio climático sobre granos básicos, efectos del cambio climático en seguridad alimentaria y adaptación al cambio climático en sistemas de producción de granos básicos. El objetivo principal de la investigación fue identificar las estrategias de adaptación ante los efectos del cambio climático en granos básicos. Para la recopilación de información se usaron dos técnicas de investigación, en primer lugar con la realización de grupos focales con productores de cada comunidad y posteriormente la aplicación de encuestas en los hogares. Los resultados más relevantes muestran como los pequeños productores de granos básicos que fueron muy influenciados por el Cambio Climático; los principales efectos fueron la disminución de los rendimientos productivos, pérdidas totales de cultivos, daños en las parcelas como pérdidas de suelo por escorrentías, afectación por muchas lluvias, sequía. Esto causó daños económicos a los productores que debieron dedicarse a trabajar en otras fincas para poder suplir las necesidades del hogar. La seguridad alimentaria para las familias campesinas está en riesgo debido a las afectaciones del clima que han ocasionado baja producción y pérdidas totales de los cultivos. Las principales estrategias de adaptación que se están realizando son: implementación de obras de conservación de suelo y agua, reforestación, selección de semillas, adecuación del calendario de siembra, asociación de cultivos, diversificación de las fincas, sistemas agroforestales; los resultados permiten recomendar estrategias para adaptarse ante el cambio climátic

The Evaluation of Public Policies from the Perspective of the Agenda 21 of Culture: a Case Study

This research shows the results of the implementation of a public cultural policy at the municipal level and has as a main objective to evaluate, from the perspective of the agenda 21 of culture, the program "Art for social development" by the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture developed in a secondary-level boarding school located at the Topolobampo community, in the municipality of Ahome, Mexico. A QUAN-QUAL methodology was used with instruments like questionnaires applied to the young participants and interviews with the workshop facilitators and administrative staff. Guitar, painting and theatre workshops were given, through which the development of new artistic expression skills was achieved, as well as contributing to the strengthening of social behaviors such as tolerance, patience and interpersonal communication, among others. It was found the constant need of having permanent programs of integral training, both in the field of artistic training and socio-emotional, giving priority to groups at risk, such as students of the boarding school that mostly come from families of scarce resources, some of the low performance academic and aggressive behavior. The conclusion is that public policies are required to promote greater articulation of education and culture in order to have a stronger impact on the social and cultural inclusion of young people
